Guangdong: Promote Engineering Pilot of 1000-ton Class Reusable Rockets, Accelerate Formation of Regular Flight Launch Capabilities
The General Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued the “Action Plan for Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of New Tracks to Lead the Modern Industrial System Construction (2026–2035).” The plan proposes that in the commercial aerospace sector, efforts will be made to enhance the research and manufacturing capabilities of starship and rocket equipment, enriching applications such as communication, navigation, and remote sensing. The application of innovative technologies like 3D printing and new composite materials in starship manufacturing will be expanded. Support will be provided for the construction of commercial satellite pulsating production lines to improve the overall satellite research and production capacity. Pilot projects for the engineering of 1,000-ton reusable rockets will be promoted to accelerate the development of launch capabilities. Support will be given to the construction of integrated communication, navigation, and remote sensing satellite constellations and the deployment of hybrid networks combining satellites and 5G. Efforts will be made to actively expand applications such as space breeding, encouraging the development of space computing centers, space photovoltaics, space resource exploration and utilization, in-orbit maintenance and services, space science environment exploration, space debris monitoring, space tourism, and space manufacturing.
