Are you addicted to X?

My first day of being ghost-banned made me realize something uncomfortable. I was addicted to X.
Not just casually scrolling, I mean really hooked. I even considered opening another account just to get around it.
I had this strong urge to tweet… anything. To stay in the loop, to react, to feel part of the conversation. But I couldn’t, and that frustration hit harder than I expected.
It got so bad I couldn’t focus on simple things around me. Even spending time with my pet felt like a distraction from something I needed to do. "post."
By day two, it got easier. Maybe I regained a bit of control or maybe I just accepted reality.
But that pause showed me something important. there’s a whole world outside this app. I had been spending hours every day engaging with people I might never actually meet, at the cost of my own time, focus, and presence.
That’s when it clicked, I wasn’t just active on X, I was dependent on it.
Now, I’m choosing a different approach. Less time. More intention. Better content. Not quitting, just taking back control.
Have you ever felt this way too?
