Veteran Public Fund Manager Cui Wei Steps Down as Chairman of Orient Fund; General Manager Liu Hongpeng Assumes Chairman Role
On March 20, Dongfang Fund announced that, after approval by the company’s board of directors, due to work adjustments, Cui Wei has stepped down as Chairman of the company. General Manager Liu Hongpeng will assume the position of Chairman.
Dongfang Fund stated that the change in senior management is mainly based on the company’s long-term development needs and is a normal part of the ongoing improvement of the company’s governance structure and talent pipeline. The company’s established development strategy remains stable and continues. During Cui Wei’s tenure as Chairman, he was diligent and dedicated, making significant contributions to the company’s strategic development, governance improvement, and stable operation, laying a solid foundation for the company’s long-term healthy growth. The company sincerely thanks him! After stepping down as Chairman, Cui Wei will continue to serve as a director and contribute his wisdom to the company’s future development.
Liu Hongpeng has extensive experience in securities and fund management, having worked at Dongfang Fund for 15 years and served as General Manager for nearly 10 years. Under his leadership, he and the management team have worked together to achieve continuous and steady growth in the company’s asset management scale and overall strength. By the end of 2025, Dongfang Fund will have a total of 68 public funds, with total fund assets under management of 126.819 billion yuan. Among them, non-cash funds hold 109.621 billion yuan, an increase of 16.037 billion yuan from the end of 2024, a growth rate of 17.14%. The non-cash fund scale ranks 46th in the industry.
