Three Departments Deploy Further Standardization of New Energy Vehicle Industry Competition Order

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the State Administration for Market Regulation recently jointly held a symposium with new energy vehicle industry companies to deploy further efforts to standardize competition in the new energy vehicle industry, enhance industry innovation capabilities, expand automobile consumption, and optimize industry management. Representatives from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and 17 key automobile companies attended the meeting.

The meeting called for strengthening departmental coordination, reinforcing innovation-driven development, and continuously promoting high-quality industry growth. Specific measures include consolidating and deepening efforts to regulate industry competition, strengthening price monitoring and cost investigations, researching and standardizing automotive financial policies, normalizing and institutionalizing efforts to address industry network chaos, and urging companies to strictly implement the 60-day payment cycle commitment.

At the same time, the meeting emphasized implementing a new round of high-quality development actions for key industrial chains, accelerating efforts to address shortfalls in automotive chips and basic software, promoting expanded application scales, and iteratively improving quality and performance; speeding up breakthroughs in autonomous driving technology, optimizing access pilot procedures, and accelerating the formulation of relevant standards to create favorable conditions for large-scale mass production.

Additionally, the meeting will deeply implement special actions to boost consumption, solidly promote the replacement of old cars with new ones, promote large-scale application of new energy heavy trucks, and develop and release policy documents to promote the healthy development of the automotive modification market, fully stimulating market consumption potential; improving financial credit services, strengthening international logistics and transportation guarantees, and supporting automobile export trade and overseas development.

Regarding the improvement of the institutional system, the meeting pointed out the need to accelerate the legislative process for the “Regulations on the Access Management of Motor Vehicle Production,” establish and improve an open, scientific, and efficient governance system for the automotive industry; strengthen risk identification, strictly control product access, enhance supervision of production consistency, and safeguard product quality and safety bottom line.
