The US Department of Homeland Security "shutdown" may impact its subordinate agencies

The U.S. Senate on the 12th failed to advance the funding bill for the Department of Homeland Security. Since the temporary funding for the department expired on the 13th and both the House and Senate began a 10-day recess on the 14th, the Department of Homeland Security entered a “shutdown” on the 14th. Media reports say that this “shutdown” is unlikely to have immediate significant effects, but if it continues, agencies under the Department of Homeland Security could be impacted. (CCTV News)
