The continuous evolution of domestic semiconductor localization and AI demand logic. On March 18, the Guotai Innovation Chip ETF (589100) rose over 1.2%.

Shenwan Hongyuan Securities pointed out that China’s semiconductor market size continues to expand, with sales reaching a record high of $22.82 billion in January 2026. The localization rate of semiconductor materials is also steadily increasing, and being自主可控 (independent and controllable) remains a long-term trend. In the electronic materials sector, focus is on domestically replacing niche segments, with attention to verification and supply progress. For example, hydroxylamine aqueous solution used as a chip cleaning agent in mature processes is expected to promote localization as production capacity shifts to mainland China; electronic-grade silane gas, photoresist monomers, and Low-α radiation spherical alumina also serve the semiconductor supply chain.

The Guotai Innovation Chip ETF (589100) tracks the Sci-Tech Innovation Chip Index (000685), which has a daily limit of 20% for ups and downs. The index selects securities of listed companies involved in the entire industry chain of chips—materials, design, manufacturing, packaging, and testing—from the STAR Market to reflect the overall performance of listed companies related to the chip industry.
