A block header uniquely identifies each block in the blockchain. Miners repeatedly hash it to generate proof of work, which is used to earn mining rewards. A block header contains metadata such as version number, previous block hash, merkle root, timestamp, target difficulty, and nonce. This 80-byte structure is critical for securing the network and connecting blocks in the chain.
