CarMax Inc., the nation’s largest used car retailer, has agreed to pay nearly $500,000 to settle a Department of Justice case involving the illegal repossession of vehicles from military service members. Each of the at least 28 affected service members will receive $15,000. This settlement stems from violations of the Service Members Civil Relief Act and includes a commitment from CarMax to revise its policies and procedures.
