Beijing Business Daily (Reporter He Yue) — On March 17, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics released the economic operation report for January and February. During this period, industrial production continued to recover, with the added value of above-scale industries in the city increasing by 6.7% year-on-year at comparable prices, an acceleration of 0.3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

The four major pillar industries saw three increases and one decrease. From January to February, out of 36 major industrial categories, 21 experienced year-on-year growth in added value. Among the four pillars, the computer, communication, and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry grew by 27.4%; the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry increased by 11.6%; the electricity, heat production, and supply industry grew by 4.3%; and the automobile manufacturing industry declined by 8.4%.

Looking at major industrial products, in January and February, the city produced 222,000 vehicles, a slight decrease of 0.2% compared to the same period last year. Among these, 85,000 sedans, down 37.8%; 112,000 SUVs, up 86.9%; and 92,000 new energy vehicles, up 23.2%. Mobile phone production reached 11.869 million units, down 32.6%; integrated circuit production totaled 4.99 billion units, up 13.1%.

Sales continued to grow. From January to February, industrial enterprises achieved a total sales output value of 427.19 billion yuan, an increase of 1.4% year-on-year. Of this, domestic sales amounted to 394.88 billion yuan, up 1.6%; export delivery value was 32.31 billion yuan, down 1.1%.
