Senior Discounts at Argentine Supermarkets: Complete Benefits Guide for March 2026
During the month of 2026, retirees and pensioners in Argentina can access a variety of discounts coordinated by Anses through the Ministry of Human Capital. According to official information, these benefits extend to approximately 7,000 retail establishments nationwide, allowing seniors to make significant savings by using their debit cards.
The process is simple: when making purchases at participating supermarkets with the debit card used for their retirement or pension payments, the discounts are automatically applied. The percentage of savings varies depending on each store and the selected products.
Who can get these discounts as retirees?
The policy is open to all retirees and pensioners regardless of category. It doesn’t matter the amount of the pension or the type of pension received: everyone is eligible for these benefits. The only requirement is to pay with the debit card where the monthly benefits are credited.
This means any Anses retiree or pensioner can go to participating stores and, simply by presenting their debit card, will receive the discount immediately without additional requests.
Participating supermarkets: discounts vary by store
Retirement discounts vary considerably depending on the retail chain. Some offer more generous promotions than others, and some have reimbursement limits while others do not.

Additional benefits offered by banks
In addition to general retiree discounts, the main banks in the country have implemented special programs for clients who receive their benefits through these banks. These benefits complement supermarket discounts.
Banco Nación: Retirees and pensioners who receive payments through this bank get an extra 5% rebate on purchases made with debit or credit cards via the BNA+ MODO app at major chains (Carrefour, Coto, Josimar, Chango Más, La Anónima, Disco, Jumbo, Vea, and Día). The weekly cap is $5,000 and the monthly cap is $20,000.
Banco Galicia: Offers up to 25% savings and the possibility of 3 interest-free installments on purchases with debit or credit cards at supermarkets (limit of $20,000 monthly), plus promotions at pharmacies and optical stores up to $12,000 monthly.
Banco Supervielle: Provides 20% discount at Jumbo, Disco, Vea, and Chango Más supermarkets specifically on Tuesdays, paying with debit card (up to $25,000) or via QR code (maximum $15,000). Also offers 50% discount at participating pharmacies and 10% on fuels.
Banco Provincia (BAPRO): Offers 5% discount via Cuenta DNI (QR or DNI Key) at Día, Toledo, Chango Más, Carrefour, and Nini, with a weekly limit of $5,000 per person. This discount is in addition to other available promotions.
How to maximize these retiree discounts
To optimize savings, it is recommended to evaluate which bank is most convenient based on the supermarkets each person frequents. Some stores offer significant promotions without a cap, while others require choosing among various banks to access additional reimbursements. The key is to identify the most advantageous combination based on personal shopping habits.
