On February 14th local time, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majid Al-Ansari stated that Qatar opposes regional military escalation and calls on relevant parties to prioritize seeking political solutions. While attending the Munich Security Conference in Germany on the same day, Ansari pointed out that the Gulf region is at a critical stage, and the common choice for all countries should be to maintain peace rather than escalate conflicts. He urged the international community to preserve and strengthen existing mediation channels rather than weaken them. Ansari emphasized that although the mediation process often faces pressure and challenges, dialogue remains the only viable way to end conflicts. He also said that increasing global political polarization and the decline of dialogue culture pose serious challenges to peace efforts, but keeping communication channels open among all parties, including non-state actors, remains a key element for successful negotiations.
