The Justice Department has reached a tentative antitrust settlement with Live Nation, Ticketmaster’s parent company, after a week of trial testimony. The agreement would require Live Nation to change ticketing deal terms with venues and allow touring artists to use other promoters, while also paying financial damages to states joining the settlement. However, numerous states involved in the litigation object to the terms, with some indicating they will continue their case independently, and the judge overseeing the case expressed displeasure with how the settlement was reported.
