Prudential (02378) Announces annual results. Based on fixed exchange rates, Prudential’s new business profit calculated using embedded value increased by 12% year-on-year to $2.78 billion, driven by a 6% growth in annualized new business premiums and improved profit margins. Hong Kong’s new business profit grew by 12%, mainly due to increased sales and profit margin improvements from local customers, Mainland Chinese tourists, agency channels, and bank insurance channels. Prudential expressed confidence that demand from local and Mainland Chinese tourists will continue to grow and remains optimistic about sustained high-quality growth in Hong Kong’s business.

Prudential’s joint venture in Mainland China saw a 27% increase in new business profit, driven by strong growth in annualized new business premiums in the second half of the year. The company continues its transformation, with double-digit growth in new agent recruitment, and deepened cooperation with strategic partner CITIC, focusing on its top 50 outlets, accelerating sales momentum, and enhancing execution and productivity.

Prudential expects that by 2026, three key indicators—new business profit, adjusted operating profit per share, and operating free surplus from insurance and asset management businesses—will reach new heights with double-digit growth again.

Looking ahead, the company will continue to focus on sustainable high-quality growth, prudent capital allocation, and creating long-term value for shareholders. It aims to extend the growth momentum of 2025 into 2026 and remains committed to achieving its financial targets for 2027.
