OpenAI Releases GPT-5.4 mini and nano: Approaching Flagship Performance, Pricing Up to 4x Previous Generation
CryptoWorld reports that, according to 1M AI News monitoring, OpenAI has released GPT-5.4 mini and GPT-5.4 nano, targeting agent, programming, and multimodal workflow scenarios. The API pricing for GPT-5.4 mini is $0.75 for input and $4.50 for output per million tokens, 2.25 to 3 times higher than the previous GPT-5 mini; nano is priced at $0.20 for input and $1.25 for output, up to four times the previous generation. In terms of performance, GPT-5.4 mini achieves 54.4% on the SWE-Bench Pro programming benchmark, close to GPT-5.4’s 57.7%, and significantly surpasses GPT-5 mini’s 45.7%. Both models support around 400,000 token context windows. Mini supports features like computer control, tool invocation, and web search, with speeds more than twice that of its predecessor. The free ChatGPT version and Go users will gain reasoning capabilities powered by GPT-5.4 mini for the first time. Mini is also launched simultaneously with GitHub Copilot and Codex, with Codex consuming only 30% of GPT-5.4 quota. Nano is available only via API and is suitable for lightweight tasks such as classification and data extraction.
