Blockstream CEO Adam Back criticized the BIP-110 proposal, which aims to purge spam data through a soft fork. Back warned that the proposal could potentially lead to frozen user funds and chain splits with just 50% hash rate support. He believes spam is merely a nuisance rather than a security threat, and such measures would damage Bitcoin's stability and neutrality. Currently, only 2.4% to 4.5% of nodes support the proposal. Back called it "stillborn" and expressed concern about the community considering such drastic measures.
