Reuters quoted an senior Iranian official reporting that Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei rejected suggestions for de-escalation or a ceasefire with the United States conveyed through two intermediary countries to Tehran.

The official stated that Khamenei, during his first diplomatic policy meeting, took a very firm and serious stance on retaliating against the U.S. and Israel. The official did not specify whether the Supreme Leader personally attended the meeting.

The official also said that Khamenei stated that now is “not the time for peace” until the U.S. and Israel are forced to surrender, admit defeat, and make reparations.

Iran Denies Khamenei’s Treatment in Russia

Additionally, according to TASS, Russia’s state news agency, Iran’s ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali denied media reports that Khamenei is receiving treatment in Moscow.

Kuwait’s Al-Jarida reported last week that Khamenei was reportedly seriously injured in a joint U.S.-Israeli airstrike that resulted in the death of the late Supreme Leader Khamenei, and was subsequently sent to Moscow for treatment at the personal invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
