On March 17, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked: Previously, some media reported that Trump said he would delay his visit to China if China did not assist with escorting ships through the Strait of Hormuz. What is China’s response?

Wang Wenbin stated, “We note that the U.S. side has publicly clarified that the false reports are completely incorrect, emphasizing that the visit is unrelated to the navigation issues in the Strait of Hormuz.”

When asked about high-level exchanges between China and the U.S., Wang Wenbin said, “Both sides are maintaining communication regarding President Trump’s visit to China.”
