Abstract generation in progress

The private equity firm Greenbriar Equity Group has completed the acquisition of eShipping. The investor specializing in mid-sized companies is taking over a leading company in managed transportation and integrated supply chain solutions. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

An Investor with Strong Industry Expertise

For eShipping founder and CEO Chad Earwood, partnering with Greenbriar marks an important milestone. The new investor brings not only deep expertise in managed transportation but also proven experience in successfully growing similar platforms. This combination aims to enable eShipping to further develop its proprietary cloud-based technology and significantly expand its service portfolio—while keeping customer service at the forefront.

Michael Wang, Managing Director at Greenbriar, particularly praised eShipping’s advanced transportation management platform. He highlighted the company’s strengths: a powerful technology infrastructure, solid operational know-how, and an experienced leadership team. The technology-driven approach allows customers to manage and optimize their supply chains more efficiently across all transportation modes.

Global Presence and Diverse Service Offerings

Based in Parkville, Missouri, the company operates a state-of-the-art, cloud-supported Transportation Management System (TMS) along with extensive business intelligence tools. eShipping coordinates transportation through a carefully curated network of freight forwarders and warehouses, covering various shipping types—from less-than-truckload (LTL) and full truckload (FTL) to parcel deliveries. Customs clearance and international freight forwarding are supported by a team of over 300 agents in 118 countries, underscoring the model’s global scalability.

A Proven Track Record as a Foundation

The partnership with Greenbriar builds on a stable growth history. In 2021, Ridgemont Equity Partners carried out a recapitalization of eShipping. Under this investment, eShipping successfully expanded through two strategic acquisitions: in 2024, the company acquired Superior Transport & Logistics, an established 3PL and TMS provider, as well as Synapsum, a specialized company in supply chain analytics software. These acquisitions already demonstrated eShipping’s platform potential to integrate specializations and create synergies.

The current transaction was supported by a strong financial advisory ecosystem: Evercore acted as financial advisor for Greenbriar, while Stifel and Harris Williams advised eShipping on the deal.
