On March 12, the Department of Crop Production of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, together with the National Agricultural Technology Center, held a现场会议 on winter rapeseed spring management and yield enhancement in Tongnan District, Chongqing City. The event included demonstrations of integrated winter rapeseed yield improvement techniques, “One Promotion and Four Prevention” measures, and rapeseed processing. A specialized training session focused on large-scale yield increase and pest and disease control technologies for winter rapeseed, with exchanges on the progress of winter rapeseed production across regions and arrangements for key upcoming tasks.

The meeting emphasized that this year marks the beginning of the 14th Five-Year Plan. All regions should thoroughly implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, deeply recognize the importance of stabilizing oilseed production, and focus on critical spring field management of winter rapeseed. Precise measures should be taken based on local conditions and seedling status, with efforts to strengthen the “One Promotion and Four Prevention” measures and scientific fertilization regulation. Agricultural technicians should be mobilized to the front lines to popularize key technologies and demonstrate their effectiveness, fully promoting stable and sustained growth of rapeseed in spring.

The meeting pointed out that rapeseed has now entered a critical period for yield formation. The occurrence of “倒春寒” (spring cold snap) and continuous rainy weather is likely, and there is a high risk of sclerotinia disease, requiring extra attention and active response. All regions must enhance proactive measures, closely monitor and manage the later stages, and strive to achieve a bumper harvest of summer rapeseed. (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs)
