Crypto ETF Update: Bitcoin ETFs Smash Inflows as Ethereum & Solana ETFs Hold Steady

The week of March 2–6 was a tale of two halves for crypto exchange-traded funds. While early momentum looked like a runaway freight train, a late-week chill hit the market, reminding investors that institutional sentiment can turn on a dime. By Friday, the broader picture was one of resilience, though the appetite for risk was clearly being filtered through a more selective lens.

Bitcoin ETFs Remain the Champion

Bitcoin remained the heavyweight champion, pulling in $568 million in net inflows for the week. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust IBIT +1.37% ▲ led the charge, stacking up roughly $660 million in new capital. However, the week wasn’t a total runaway victory for the bulls. Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund FBTC +1.38% ▲ finished with about -$153 million in outflows, largely due to heavy selling pressure late in the week.

Other players kept their heads above water. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust BTC +1.49% ▲ added about $46 million, while Franklin Templeton’s Franklin Bitcoin ETF EZBC +1.45% ▲ and Invesco’s Invesco Galaxy Bitcoin ETF BTCO +1.45% ▲ posted gains of $22 million and $15 million, respectively. WisdomTree’s WisdomTree Bitcoin Fund BTCW +1.36% ▲ brought in $16 million, VanEck’s VanEck Bitcoin Trust HODL +1.30% ▲ added $10 million, and Valkyrie’s Valkyrie Bitcoin Fund BRRR +1.35% ▲ gained $17 million.

On the flip side, funds like Bitwise’s Bitwise Bitcoin ETF BITB +1.41% ▲ , Ark & 21Shares’ ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF ARKB +1.46% ▲ , and Grayscale’s Grayscale Bitcoin Trust GBTC +1.38% ▲ faced a tougher week, seeing outflows of $24 million, $7 million, and $35 million, respectively.

Ether Funds Feel the Heat

Ether ETFs had a much quieter week, managing a total net inflow of $23.56 million. BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust ETF ETHA +2.95% ▲ was the star performer, pulling in $133 million. Grayscale’s Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETH +2.88% ▲ also had a solid showing, adding about $84 million, with Grayscale’s Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETHE +2.86% ▲ tacking on nearly $16 million. Despite these gains, Fidelity’s Fidelity Ethereum Fund FETH +2.94% ▲ saw massive withdrawals of $218 million, which acted as an anchor on the sector’s overall performance.

Solana Stays Steady while XRP Slips

Solana funds quietly accumulated capital, recording $24.05 million in weekly inflows. This performance was almost entirely driven by Bitwise’s Bitwise Solana Staking ETF BSOL +1.32% ▲ , which pulled in roughly $34 million. Meanwhile, XRP ETFs faced a rough patch, closing the week with $4.08 million in net outflows. While Canary’s Canary XRP ETF XRPC +1.32% ▲ stood out with $6 million in inflows, it wasn’t enough to offset the combined selling from 21Shares’ 21Shares XRP ETF TOXR +1.45% ▲ , Franklin Templeton’s Franklin XRP ETF XRPZ +1.22% ▲ , Grayscale’s Grayscale XRP Trust GXRP +1.22% ▲ , and Bitwise’s Bitwise XRP ETF BITX +2.78% ▲ .
