Russian Components Found In Drone Attacking RAF Base In Cyprus Daily Mail
(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According Ukrinform, the Daily Mai reported this.
“The Iranian drone that hit a British airbase in Cyprus was equipped with Russian military hardware,” the report said.
The Royal Air Force (RAF) base at Akrotiri was reportedly attacked by an Iranian drone launched from Lebanon. The drone is believed to have been equipped with the Russian-made Kometa-B navigation system.
This technology was first identified in drones intercepted by the Ukrainian Air Defense in December last year.
The British military intelligence has sent the recovered drone components to a laboratory in the United Kingdom for further investigation. The attack is believed to have been carried out by militants from Hezbollah based in Lebanon.
According to the Daily Mail, this may be the first evidence of Russian military technology being used in the Iranian conflict.
Despite the discovery, U.S. President Donald Trump said he had received“no indication” that Russia was assisting Iran.

As reported, an unidentified drone attacked the British air base in Cyprus on March 2.
Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias announced the deployment of two frigates and two F‐16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets to Cyprus due to the deteriorating security situation. France has also said it will send missile defense and counter-drone systems to the island amid the war between the United States and Israel against Iran.
