Down 5.96%! Soaring oil prices heavily impact the Korean stock market

Gelonghui March 9 — The surge in oil prices severely impacted the South Korean stock market. The KOSPI index once fell 8.75% during the session, reaching 5,096.16 points; ultimately, it closed down 5.96% at 5,251.87 points. The year-to-date increase in the KOSPI index has narrowed to 24.62%.
