Iranian officials say the new Supreme Leader has been confirmed

On March 8th, local time, Iranian officials announced that a new Supreme Leader has been confirmed. Hossein Bousheri, Secretary-General of the Expert Assembly, will be responsible for making the public announcement. Aram Hoda, a representative of the late Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei in Razavi Khorasan Province, stated that the election of the Supreme Leader has been completed and the new leader has been determined. He said that all rumors and reports claiming that the Expert Assembly has not made a decision are “completely false.” Aram Hoda also stated that, according to the Iranian Constitution, no one, not even members of the Expert Assembly, has the authority to change this decision. According to reports from Iran on the 8th, the Iranian Expert Assembly has made a final decision on the candidate for the new Supreme Leader.
