Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The international community should resolutely oppose Japan's new militaristic ambitions
On February 25th, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked, “The Liberal Democratic Party of Japan has approved a proposal requiring the government to lift restrictions on arms exports. What is China’s comment on this?” Mao Ning stated, “We have noted the relevant reports and express serious concern. Due to Japan’s invasion history, its military security developments have always attracted the attention of neighboring Asian countries and the international community. In recent years, Japan has significantly adjusted its security policies, and Japanese officials have openly advocated for nuclear armament, sought to amend the ‘Three Non-Nuclear Principles,’ and lift restrictions on arms exports. This again exposes the ambitions of Japanese right-wing forces to break through the constraints of the post-war international order and domestic law, aiming for ‘re-militarization.’ The international community should remain highly vigilant, jointly defend the achievements of the victory in World War II and the post-war international order, and resolutely oppose Japan’s new militarist ambitions.” (CCTV News)
