Led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor (Michael Saylor), MicroStrategy last week spent $1.28 billion to purchase 17,994 Bitcoins, with an average price of $70,946 per Bitcoin. The acquisition was mainly funded by raising $900 million through the sale of common stock and $377 million through the sale of preferred stock, bringing the total number of Bitcoins held by the company to 738,731, with an average price of $75,862 per Bitcoin. Currently, Bitcoin's trading price is slightly below $68,000.
