Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that Paramount has made a new bid of $31 per share, potentially offering a better deal than its existing agreement with Netflix, which could trigger a new round of bidding for the well-known Hollywood studio. The statement on Tuesday indicated that Warner Bros. has not withdrawn its recommendation for investors to support Netflix’s $27.75 per share acquisition of its film and HBO businesses. However, the company said that Paramount’s latest terms have reached the threshold for further negotiations. Warner Bros. stated that the board has not yet decided whether the revised Paramount proposal is more favorable than the Netflix merger plan. The company plans to engage in more discussions with Paramount and said that if the board supports this increased bid, Netflix will have four business days to respond. (Jiemian News)
