OpenAI has delayed the release of its ChatGPT "Adult Mode." The feature is designed to allow verified adult users access to erotic content and other adult material. CEO Sam Altman initially announced that the feature would be launched in December, but it was postponed to the first quarter of this year. Now, the company states it will "delay" the release to prioritize enhancing the chatbot's intelligence, personality, and proactivity. An OpenAI spokesperson reiterated the commitment to "treat adults like adults," but also said that more time is needed to improve the user experience and did not provide a new timeline.
