According to Interfax, the Russian Ministry of Justice has proposed fines of up to 1.5 million rubles or a maximum of 2 years of forced labor for illegal cryptocurrency mining activities; if the profit amount is particularly large or the activity is carried out by an organized group, the maximum penalty can be 5 years of imprisonment. The relevant sanctions are included in amendments to the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code published on the Russian legal regulation draft portal.
