【Chain News】Just noticed an interesting on-chain movement. A leading institution, Trend Research, has been continuously accumulating over the past 7 hours, adding a total of 27,598 ETH. The latest transaction was five minutes ago, withdrawing 6,748 ETH from an exchange (equivalent to approximately $19.77 million USD) and directly transferring it into Aave as collateral.
This move is quite intriguing. Currently, this institution’s total ETH holdings have reached 607,598 ETH, with a book value of about $1.77 billion USD. However, this figure doesn’t look very good—their average cost basis is around $3,111 USD, and at the current price, they are experiencing an unrealized loss of about $117 million USD.
The step of depositing ETH into Aave is somewhat thought-provoking. There are usually two possible reasons for such an operation: either preparing for subsequent lending strategies or simply a bullish long-term holding approach. Whales are still adding positions at this level, which might reveal something.
