Bitcoin's performance this year looks glamorous, reaching a new all-time high in USD terms, but a closer look at the yearly chart reveals issues. It actually closed lower, and most of the time it hovered around $100,000, moving sideways with little excitement.
Comparing it to other asset classes makes it even clearer. Silver, gold, S&P 500—these assets all outperformed Bitcoin for the year. It seems quite ironic, doesn't it?
This raises an interesting question: although traditionally 2025 might be considered a bull market, what is the reality? In essence, it looks more like a bear market wrapped in a shiny exterior. Digital assets' gains are far below expectations, the market lacks sustained upward momentum, and it's mostly oscillating and adjusting. This is the true reflection of the market this year.
