Nordex Expands European Presence With 102 MW Wind Energy Portfolio Across France and Belgium
Nordex SE, a leading manufacturer of onshore wind turbines, has secured substantial new orders totaling 102 MW across France and Belgium, marking a significant expansion in Western Europe. The agreement encompasses 28 turbine installations deployed across seven wind farm projects, with each contract featuring comprehensive multi-year service and maintenance provisions.
Project Deployment and Geographic Distribution
The 77 MW allocation designated for France spans three distinct regions—Pays de la Loire, Normandie, and Grand Est—representing a geographically diverse portfolio. The Belgian portion, amounting to 25 MW, will be developed across the Ardennes and Wallonia regions. This geographic spread strengthens Nordex’s operational presence across multiple European energy markets.
Turbine Configuration and Technology
Nordex will deploy a mixed fleet of its most advanced turbine models to optimize performance across different site conditions. The French projects will feature five N131/3000 units, eight N117/3675 turbines, four N117/3675 turbines at another site, and four N149/4.X installations—representing some of the largest wind turbine options in the company’s portfolio. Belgian installations will incorporate three N131/3600 units and four N117/3675 turbines, ensuring consistent capacity utilization across both markets.
Timeline and Execution
Turbine deliveries and installations are scheduled for execution between 2026 and 2027, allowing for comprehensive project planning and supply chain optimization. The staggered timeline reflects the scale and complexity of these multi-site deployments.
The announcement underscores Nordex’s competitive positioning in the European onshore wind sector, with these orders representing continued demand for the company’s advanced turbine solutions in major European energy markets.
