Wintermute, the founder and CEO of the liquidity provider Wintermute, recently stated that he plans to vote against a governance proposal for AAVE.

He pointed out that the biggest problem with this proposal is that it is too rough—lacking in specific details, and the descriptions of how the governance entity operates and profits are also very vague. He straightforwardly said that the core contradiction AAVE truly needs to solve is the token value acquisition mechanism, and that the current market expectations and project commitments are completely mismatched.

In addition to the proposal itself, he also criticized the overly politicized nature of community voting. He also pointed out that Stani, the founder of AAVE, has shortcomings in his communication strategy, but he believes that some of the criticisms of AAVE Labs are indeed exaggerated.

Wintermute has been investing in AAVE since 2022 and has been actively involved in the project's governance work. This statement also reflects the genuine views of long-term participants on the project's development direction.

Damn, it's another half-baked proposal. They haven't even figured out the details before pulling it out for a vote. Wintermute is right. Stani needs to seriously reflect on his communication approach. It's already 2024, and he's still being so secretive. Honestly, AAVE's tokenomics design really needs to be changed. Right now, it's just a scheme to cut the leeks. Voting against feels satisfying, but I wonder if even more disastrous proposals will come later to continue messing with people. This community voting has really turned into a fight scene, full of political struggles with no constructive discussion.
