Cardano has entered the era of governance. What does this mean?
Charles's recent tweets and videos have revealed a signal: IOHK, as a software development company, has completed its core delivery tasks. Promises have been fulfilled, and from now on, the focus will mainly be on maintenance. Sounds like a graceful exit after success?
But here’s a real issue—IOHK makes money through development. That’s why they launched the Midnight project, bringing in other stakeholders to create a new narrative together. That’s pretty normal, right? A company has to survive.
However, looking at it from another angle: if Charles’s team is no longer pushing full steam ahead, what will happen to ADA going forward? This isn’t meant to scare anyone. You could see it this way: Charles spent eight years developing a game, and now that the game is live, players can play it themselves. And the development team? Of course, they’ll move on to the next game.
There’s nothing wrong with this business logic, but for ADA holders… well, it might be time to reassess. The project entering an autonomous phase sounds wonderful, but in reality, the real test is just beginning. Without the core team continuously contributing, can the community sustain this ecosystem?
This question will be answered by time.
