Just saw the terms HODL and BUIDL earlier. At first, I thought they were just typos from slipping fingers, but then I realized I was the one missing out on this knowledge.

Quick crash course: The HODL meme originated in the Bitcoin community—in 2013, someone got drunk and made a forum post, accidentally typing HOLD as HODL. By a happy accident, it became synonymous with "holding steadfastly." Later on, the Ethereum crowd came up with BUIDL, intentionally misspelling BUILD to emphasize a focus on "building" and taking action.

These seemingly casual spelling mistakes actually embody the core spirit of their respective communities. One represents a belief in long-term thinking, the other stands for a builder’s mentality. Crypto culture is fascinating—even typos can take on a kind of philosophical meaning.

Haha, Drunkard achievement unlocked. I only recently got this meme too. The history behind HODL is amazing—a drunken typo ended up reshaping crypto culture. Truly a serendipitous moment. BUIDL followed the same pattern, intentionally misspelling to emphasize an attitude. I think that's real community wisdom.

Haha, I'm dying of laughter. I also only realized later that those two words weren't typos. The HODL story is just epic. Getting drunk and accidentally creating a cultural symbol—now that's truly a happy accident. BTW, the BUIDL spirit of Ethereum is totally different from Bitcoin's HODL. One is about making money while lying down, the other feels like it's all about the grind. Honestly, that's just how the culture in this space is. The more you play, the deeper you get. Even typos have to be given meaning, haha.

Oh my god, making a typo while drunk and having it become a meme is just incredible. This must be the romanticism of Web3. HODL is the masterpiece of a drunk, I can’t stop laughing. Now it’s used as a pillar of faith. Alright, I’ll remember BUIDL. I’ve got new material for flexing next time. Just comparing these two words nails the vibes of the two communities perfectly. You can see the personality differences between Ethereum and Bitcoin just from this. There’s so much culture in it.
