The 4 classical elements: a personal journey through the primordial forces
How fascinated I am to contemplate these four elements that the ancient Greeks identified! Earth, Water, Air, and Fire - sometimes I think our modern obsession with the periodic table has made us forget the beauty of this simpler and deeper vision of nature.
When I walk through the mountains, I feel the Earth beneath my feet - that stability we all need, even though many ignore it in search of constant change. The solidity it provides reminds me of how important it is to have roots, while so many float aimlessly.
Water... what a contradictory element. It can give life or take it away. I adapt like it does according to the situation, but sometimes I think our society values this "adaptability" so much that it ends up losing identity.
Air is pure freedom. Invisible but essential. Isn't it ironic how many talk about freedom without understanding its true nature? Like air itself, freedom exists to be shared, not hoarded.
And Fire, my favorite element - transformative, destructive, and creative at the same time. The passion that so many fear to show for fear of others' judgment. The world needs more authentic fire and fewer artificial flames.
These connections with stations, directions, and natural elements are not mere superstitions. They represent an ancestral wisdom that we have forgotten while we distract ourselves with ephemeral technologies and volatile markets.
And you? Which element do you identify with? Or have you lost that basic connection with what we really are?
