A recent post on the X platform by Gate's founder revealed his Chinese heritage, hailing from Harbin. The entrepreneur shared that this marks his first homecoming in over half a decade, predating the global health crisis. He expressed a personal aspiration to foster stronger connections between Eastern and Western cultures.

Previously, Gate had successfully garnered 20,000 ETH in funding. However, the ambiguity surrounding the allocation of these resources prompted scrutiny from the community.

In light of these concerns, the Gate DAO engaged legal counsel to pursue the recovery of the 20,000 ETH from the founder. Initially, legal proceedings were initiated but subsequently withdrawn.

Earlier, in the spring of 2022, the founder's Ethereum address published an article on Mirror. This piece acknowledged that the team behind Gate had been involved in the development and operation of three distinct projects within the preceding year. These ventures included initiatives in the realm of digital collectibles and blockchain-based entertainment.
