My Top 5 Crypto Books for 2023: What I Really Learned!
Well, after diving into this shark-infested pond called crypto for months, here are the 5 books I found useful - but not always for the reasons one might think...
I devoured this book in one night! Frankly, it explains complicated stuff without treating you like an idiot. Perfect when you're lost like I was at the beginning. However, beware of the overflowing enthusiasm - Lewis carefully avoids the blind spots of the system. It's like listening to a car salesman who forgets to mention the gas mileage!
2. "Mastering Bitcoin" by Andreas Antonopoulos:
Damn, I struggled with this book! Too technical for my brain, but I persisted. Antonopoulos is clearly a genius, but sometimes I felt like he was preaching a religion. Is blockchain really going to save the world? I doubt it when I see transaction fees skyrocket as soon as there's a bit of traffic!
Finally, someone who talks to normal humans! His explanations helped me understand this weird thing called blockchain without giving me a headache. However, his optimism about global adoption seems naive to me - governments are not going to let their monetary power slip away like that, man.
A fascinating story, but it made me angry! Those Winklevoss twins going from wealthy to ultra-wealthy... Should we really celebrate that? Inequality also exists in crypto, it's just that we're changing the elites. Addictive reading nonetheless!
I loved their analyses of potential impacts. But let's be honest, they extrapolate like crazy! Blockchain is not going to solve world hunger or corruption. It's just a technology, not a magic wand! It's still intellectually stimulating.
The real lesson? Read all of this but keep a critical mind! In recent days, with BTC plummeting below 110,000, it is clear that no one really has THE truth in this world...
