A Guide to Interacting Directly with Smart Contracts on the Ethereum Blockchain

This article will introduce how to interact directly with smart contracts without relying on any decentralized applications ( DApp ), solely through the Ethereum blockchain explorer Etherscan.

Preparation:

  • Network access tool
  • MetaMask browser extension wallet

Operation Steps:

  1. Ensure that your network access tools are functioning properly and can smoothly open websites like Google.

  2. Open the Etherscan block explorer and find the target smart contract address. This tutorial takes the QP Token extraction contract of NEST 3.0 version as an example.

  1. On the contract page, click on "Contract", "Write Contract", and "Connect to Web3" options in sequence, then connect your MetaMask wallet.

  1. Scroll down the page to find the contract method you need to call. In this example, we will use the "takeOut" method to withdraw QP Token.

  1. Interacting with smart contracts:

    • In the first input box, enter the amount of QP Token you want to extract. For example, to extract 100 tokens, you need to enter: 100000000000000000000 (100 followed by 18 zeros 0).
    • In the second input box, enter the token contract address you want to extract. For example, the contract address for NEST Token is: 0x04abeda201850ac0124161f037efd70c74ddc74c.

    Other token contract address reference:

    • NYFI: 0x075190c6130ea0a3a7e40802f1d77f4ea8f38fe2
    • NHBTC: 0x1f832091faf289ed4f50fe7418cfbd2611225d46

  1. Click the "Write" button to initiate the transaction. After that, you can click "View your transaction" to check the transaction status and wait for the transaction to be confirmed.

Through this method, we can interact directly with smart contracts on Etherscan to perform the required operations without using any third-party DApps or importing wallets into unknown software. This not only enhances security but also simplifies the process of interacting with the Blockchain.

For users who are not familiar with smart contracts operations, this method may require some learning, but once mastered, it will greatly enhance your autonomy and flexibility within the Ethereum ecosystem. It is recommended to carefully read the relevant documentation before carrying out actual operations to ensure understanding of the meaning of each step and the potential risks involved.

A pure Wallet is enough, what else do we need a DApp for?
