Bitcoin has experienced a tumultuous price journey since its inception in 2009. Initially almost worthless, it began trading at a few cents in 2010. In 2011, it first broke the $1 barrier but quickly fell back. After the first halving in 2012, the price at the end of the year was only around $13.
In 2013, the price of Bitcoin began to rise significantly, approaching 1000 USD by the end of the year. The following years of 2014-2015 entered a bear market, with prices falling to around 200 USD. In 2016, the market began to recover, once again nearing 1000 USD by the end of the year. In 2017, Bitcoin experienced explosive growth, soaring to nearly 20000 USD by the end of the year.
In 2018, the market corrected, falling to around 3700 USD by the end of the year. In 2019, prices fluctuated wildly, ultimately closing at 7200 USD. In 2020, Bitcoin took off again, breaking through 30000 USD by the end of the year. In 2021, the strong momentum continued, reaching a historic high close to 70000 USD.
The market experienced adjustments in 2022, ending the year below 20,000 USD. 2023 was relatively stable, finishing around 42,000 USD. After price fluctuations at the beginning of 2024, it began to rise, reaching a new high of 73,608 USD in March. On December 5 of the same year, Bitcoin broke through the 98,700 USD mark, with a single-day increase of over 3%.
Looking ahead, there are predictions that the price of Bitcoin may exceed $120,000 by 2025. This potential milestone reflects the market's optimistic expectations for the long-term development prospects of Bitcoin. However, investors should remain cautious and closely monitor market trends and changes in the regulatory environment.
