ProShares Trust 8 Futures ETFs Proposed to Effective on 30 April
Eight futures ETFs registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) ProShares Trust on January 17, 2025, are proposed to go into effect on April 30, according to SEC filings. According to publicly available information, on January 17, 2025, ProShares Trust registered eight coin quote futures ETFs with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including four Solana ETFs (ProShares Solana ETFs. ProShares UltraShort Solana ETF, ProShares Ultra Solana ETF, ProShares Short Solana ETF) and four XRP ETFs (ProShares XRP ETFs, ProShares UltraShort XRP ETFs, ProShares Ultra XRP ETFs, ProShares Ultra XRP ETFs, and ProShares Short XRP ETF). The originally proposed effective date of April 2, 75 days from now, was also the date of the SEC's final decision to make a decision on these eight ETFs, but the SEC did not respond after the deadline expired. On April 15, the ProShares Trust filed amendments with the SEC, and all eight ETFs are proposed to go into effect on April 30.
According to former Fox reporter Eleonora Terrett, the ProShares 8 cryptocurrency futures ETFs are applications for futures and leveraged/inverse products that do not require "approval" from the SEC, unlike spot products, and will take effect if the SEC does not raise objections within a certain period after the application is submitted. If there are no objections, these products will come into effect.
