Been following the Pi Network journey for a while now, and honestly the whole migrate to mainnet thing is pretty wild. So basically they've been moving people from the test environment to the actual blockchain, and if you're in the queue like most of us, it's just happening automatically. No action needed on your end, which is kind of nice.
What's interesting is the timeline they set up - once your balance gets transferred, there's this 14-day waiting period where your funds are locked in but not fully usable. After that, you can start using the unlocked portion of your Pi for actual transactions. The locked part stays locked based on whatever duration you chose, so it depends on your personal setup.
I think a lot of people don't realize how significant this migrate to mainnet process actually is. Like, this is when your earned Pi actually moves to a real blockchain where you can do stuff with it - trade it, use it for services, whatever the ecosystem ends up supporting. They've been pretty transparent about rolling people through the queue gradually, which makes sense for a smooth transition.
The whole thing wrapped up back in early 2025, so we're well past that deadline now. If you haven't migrated yet, you should probably check your status in the app. The Pi community seems pretty engaged with the whole process, and there's decent info available if you look through the official channels. Pretty curious to see how the ecosystem actually develops once more people have their coins accessible on mainnet.
