Nomura: The next round of monetary policy easing in Asia may begin soon.

[Nomura: The Next Round of Monetary Policy Easing in Asia May Soon Begin] Nomura economists and analysts wrote in a report that the next round of monetary policy easing in Asia may soon begin. Most Asian Central Banks have recently been in a wait-and-see mode after reducing interest rates to neutral levels and with the U.S. equivalent tariff rates being more favorable than announced in April. However, they indicated that disappointing economic growth, weak inflation, and alleviated concerns over financial stability could prompt Asian Central Banks to ease monetary policy. In our view, there is a general expectation that the Fed will start cutting interest rates in September, providing another trigger point for Central Banks in Asia to relax their policies. Nomura Securities expects further interest rate cuts in India, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia.
