Abstract generation in progress

On May 29, Wall Street is now circulating a narrative that Trump is ultimately unwilling to deliver on his threat of extreme tariffs. Mr. Trump was annoyed by the rhetoric, calling his repeated backing down part of a strategy of trade compromise. “It’s called negotiation,” Mr. Tran said, adding that as part of the negotiations, he deliberately “set a ridiculously high number” and then “lowered it a little bit.” At an event in the Oval Office, Trump was asked to respond to reports of the alleged “TACO” deal. TACO, which stands for Trump Always Chickens Out, is a trade in which investors buy dips after Trump threatens tariffs, and when he finally calms down, the stock market will rebound.
