Every week while scrolling through X I see a community recap from @GOATRollup and honestly, I haven’t been paying much attention to these...
But I decided to read the one from this past week, and it’s actually great to see how active the community is and how much it grows week after week.
My thoughts 👇
- 38,372 members and counting. That’s solid growth for a Bitcoin L2 that’s still in early stages.
- What caught my attention was the variety of engagement. Not just price speculation or airdrop farming, but actual content creation and community building.
- The “My Story with GOAT” creative contest shows they understand narrative matters in crypto. People need to feel connected to the protocols they use, especially when we’re talking about Bitcoin yield strategies.
- The meme game is crazy. Someone created 53 memes in one week lmao.
- What’s best about all of this though, is how helpful the community is. I saw someone asking about accessing the Chinese Discord channel, and community members jumped in to help immediately.
I have seen this kind of support with the @SonicLabs community, but you don’t see it a lot.
- The UGC highlight was someone diving very deep into GOAT’s core mechanics. Technical education from community members often works better than official documentation, @katana proved this already.
- What I find interesting is the focus on “yap, stack, and grow.” Most communities just focus on either the yapping OR the stacking (onchain) part. GOAT seems to understand that the yapping creates the network effects that drive the stacking.
For a Bitcoin L2 trying to bring sustainable yield to BTC holders, having an engaged community that actually understands and explains the mechanics is crucial.
Curious to see what the real results of all this community building will be once the TGE is behind us.
