Ralex Stokes appointed as co-head of research at the Ethereum Foundation, focusing on research in five areas

Wu said that Ralex Stokes announced that he and Barnabé Monnot will jointly serve as co-leaders of the Ethereum Foundation’s research department. The Ethereum Foundation’s research team consists of five specialized areas: the Application Research Group (ARG) transforms theory into practice; the Consensus development team focuses on improving the Consensus layer; the cryptography team reduces trust reliance through mathematics; the protocol security team is responsible for ensuring the security of network software and specifications; the Research and Innovation Group (RIG) optimizes the Ethereum mechanism from economic and game theory perspectives. In addition, Stokes will no longer serve as the leader of the ARG team, and Kevaundray will take over the position.
