FBI: enough evidence to convict the Tornado Cash developer

robot
Abstract generation in progress

Prosecutors in the Southern District of New York have stated that they have enough evidence to convict Roman Storm, the developer of Tornado Cash, in a trial that lasted 4 weeks.

This petition refutes Storm's request for exoneration, which was made after he was convicted of conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transfer service. Storm's lawyers have a few days to submit a response.

Prosecutors emphasized that Storm is a co-founder of Tornado Cash and built features that he knew would support cybercrime. During the prosecution phase, Storm and his accomplices changed the user interface about 250 times, controlling how the majority of users accessed the service. About 96% of Tornado Cash users during that time accessed it through this interface.

The text also states that there is sufficient evidence to sustain the allegations of conspiracy to launder money and conspiracy to violate sanctions, and the judge should not dismiss these charges.
