Zuckerberg shows off AI, AR muscles, Meta stock hits record high

Golden Ten Data, September 26, on Wednesday, Meta Platforms (META.O) held a press conference at its California headquarters, the company first released the new entry-level version of the Quest series of mixed reality headsets, Quest 3S, and then announced the addition of voice capabilities to its AI chatbot, where users can choose celebrity voices. Meta has also released three new versions of the Llama 3 AI model. Two of the models are multimodal, which means they can understand both images and text. Meta also announced an update to the Ray-Ban-Meta smart glasses, with Zuckerberg demoing the new translation feature and announcing that the feature will go live later this year. Finally, Meta showed off a prototype of the company's first augmented reality (AR) glasses, called Orion. "It's a physical world covered with holograms," Mr. Zuckerberg said after pulling the thick black glasses out of a box. Shortly after the press conference, Meta shares hit a new high, rising 2.2% to $575.77.
