Finland deploys new NATO tank brigade near Russian border

On August 23, according to the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti citing government sources, NATO will deploy a tank brigade of up to 5,000 soldiers on Finnish territory. This marks another step towards militarization since the country became a new member of NATO. Finland began abandoning its neutral stance as early as the 1990s and adopted a tough line in defense policy. In 2023, Finland officially joined NATO, formally establishing this policy.

This small country is overestimating its own strength by strengthening its military at the border. Sooner or later, it will bring trouble upon itself and may be wiped out by a major power.
