UXLINK hacker was hacked: Lost millions of dollars in crypto
UXLINK, which describes itself as a social Web3 platform, was hacked last night. In the statement, it was noted that the platform's multisignature wallet experienced a security vulnerability issue, and "Large amounts of cryptocurrency are being sent to CEX and DEXs," it was stated.
In the information provided by the crypto security platform Cyvers Alerts in the morning hours, it was stated that hackers seized control of the multisignature wallet and appointed a new administrator.
Cyvers stated that the hacker stole at least 4 million USDT, 500 thousand USDC, 3.7 WBTC, and 25 ETH.
According to Lookonchain, the situation was even more severe. According to the information provided, the hacker sent at least 6,732 ETH worth approximately 28 million dollars to decentralized exchanges, or DEXs, through 6 wallets.
UXLINK also stated that a large portion of the tokens sent to CEX, that is, centralized exchanges, is frozen by these platforms.
Minted trillions of tokens
While the hacker produced trillions of tokens, the price of UXLINK lost more than 70%. On-chain data showed that the hacker minted more than 10 trillion tokens during the night hours. The total supply of UXLINK was 1 billion tokens before the attack. Therefore, it is believed that the drop is actually at much more dramatic levels.
The hacker was also hacked!
However, on-chain data shows that the UXLINK hacker experienced a significant loss through a phishing attack in the morning hours. Phishing attacks conducted via trap contract addresses have demonstrated that even hackers with technical knowledge in the crypto world can suffer losses.
The given information indicates that the hacker fell into this trap while trying to move the tokens to a secure area or exchange them for other tokens.
According to on-chain data, 542 million UXLINK tokens were transferred from the hacker's address to the hackers who set the trap.
Under normal circumstances, the value of these tokens is approximately 50 million dollars, but currently, in an environment where there has been a drop and trillions of tokens have been issued, the value in dollars is not fully known.
The UXLINK team stated that they will continue to provide information transparently.
