coin responded to the infection of the SparkKitty virus: a risky SDK was implanted, but the related functionality has never been activated, and user data has always been safe.
Odaily Planet Daily News Securelist released a report today pointing out that "coin" is suspected of being infected with a new malicious virus SparkKitty, which has aroused widespread concern in the market. In response, the coin team issued a response, admitting that it had access to a third-party SDK provided by the Bitdu exchange, but said that the high-risk functions involving album permissions and image uploads in the SDK have been disabled from beginning to end, have never been activated or triggered, and user data has not been affected in any way. According to coin disclosures, in 2023, Bitdu plans to acquire coin and has requested access to its SDK used to assess user activity. The coin technical team discovered suspicious behavior in the SDK during testing, which induced the opening of photo album permissions and uploading of photos. Subsequently, they comprehensively blocked the upload function through the interface to ensure that potential risk functions could not operate. Currently, the coin has launched a full-scale code security audit and is committed to upgrading the third-party SDK review and partner background investigation processes to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.
